How it all started
This story begins in 2011 when Hugh Jones left school at 17 to start a carpentry apprenticeship and instantly fell in love with the industry. The day after becoming a qualified carpenter at the age of 20, he registered an ABN and went solo. He’s never looked back.
At the age of 24 Hugh was awarded his limited building license, specialising in carpentry (DBL-C). Understanding the value of marketing, he worked with a design company to develop his logo, website and Instagram page to create a professional brand from the word ‘go’.
As the business grew, Hugh began recruiting a team of experienced and reliable contract tradesmen. A clean and well-maintained job site is on the top of his priority list as this ensures safety for everyone. Hugh is a proud member of Carpentry Australia with a focus on maintaining high industry standards.

What can you expect?
You’ll be treated as a person, not a number. Hugh and his team members enjoy what they do and will take their time to get to know you.
In-person meeting
After the initial enquiry via a phone call or a website form, Hugh will meet you in person to discuss your project. Armed with all the details, he will need roughly two to three weeks to send you a quote. If you’re after a quick quote, The Jones Carpentry Co isn’t the right company for you as time and detail will go into your quote.
A fee for large-scale quotes applies depending on the size of the project, which we’ll discuss with you if it’s relevant.
Project start
Once you’ve accepted the quote and a deposit has been paid, the project kicks off. Communication is a top priority, so rest assured, Hugh and his team members will keep you in the loop at all times. Expect regular updates via SMS or a phone call at the end of the week to make sure everything is going according to plan.
